Fifteen years ago, I lived half a block from a bayou foot bridge that appeared (I’m told) in the Chuck Norris movie “Sidekick.” I arrived home one day to find trucks, crews and equipment all over my block. So there!
Actually, I think having Santa Rosa Island as a New England town, and Choctawhatchee Bay as the Atlantic Ocean is a fairly absurd concept, but I would suppose the actors appreciated the 80° versus 60° water.
I can tell you that the locals working as extras would certainly not get speaking parts: the drawl would sort of blow the premise.
