Good luck everyone! Stay dry and safe. 🙂

We have a thunderstorm here right now. I’m enjoying it actually, it’s been a while! The rain is very welcome. Though, the dog isn’t at all impressed! She’s been trying to burrow under the bed (Jack Russel’s love to burrow, they hunt wabbits!) 😉

The cats, inside and outside, are in hiding because of the thunder.

Queensland and New South Wales certainly don’t need or want any rain at the moment. They seem to be in the same shape as South Dakota and Manitoba, but with warmer temperatures.

that was a nice little set of storms that wafted through today.

the dog and i went out to the dog park this evening, after things had calmed down. the park is on a slope, and so much sand had been washed downhill that the fence at the lowest end is now 6″ shorter than it was.

hipparchia: I used to live near a big park and loved going for a walk there during or after rain. I love the smell. 🙂

It’s raining a bit hard! The front yard looks like a duck pond at the moment! 🙁 The ground is so hard, it’s like concrete. I wouldn’t mind so much if some ducks showed up. 😉 😀

Glad you are all staying safe! 🙂

Lots of erosion around, but the real problems are to the North in the “highlands”. The bayou is even yukkier than normal from all the runoff.

How are you enjoying the waters from the Gulf, Moi. It is all part of the same system that has been running from the Gulf to the Great Lakes for much of its life.

No tornadoes today, but some good sized hail.

It will go from hard to mush all too quickly, Kryten.

Ducks are good, if they aren’t Muscovy ducks – ugly buggers, and nasty tempered.

i love going for walks in the rain. and just after too, that smell is one of the best there is. i do try to stay out of the thunderstorms though. watching them through the sliding glass door is good enough for me.

the bayous here are full, much higher than normal. they’re always polluted, so it’s hard to tell what’s washing down into them from the rivers.

The currents once scrubbed the bayous clean, but we have overwhelmed that natural capacity by polluting them and the streams that feed them.
