Still Not Running
The Times-Picayune has the latest not running for President fundraising events:
BATON ROUGE — Gov. Bobby Jindal is flying to Paradise Valley, Ariz., today to attend a fundraiser for his gubernatorial re-election campaign, his office announced.
The Republican governor has ventured out of state on a regular basis, putting in fundraising appearances last week in Chicago and a Kansas City suburb. He has scheduled trips to Boston and Destin, Fla., later this month.
Gee, Destin … I could wander down and watch him not running in person, although I would have to pay to get in, and almost everything is a better buy that seeing Piyush.

…times sure must be tough in Louisiana if he needs to travel so openly and so far afield to raise funds for his reelection campaign…
Especially since he was only recently elected and doesn’t have an opponent of any kind for the office of governor of Louisiana.
The Louisiana Democrats make the D.C. Democrats look organized and competent. Which is a scary thought. They seem to be following the same strategy that the D.C. Democrats followed regarding George W. Bush — i.e., let an idiot Republican be in power for eight years in order to discredit the Republican brand. Thing is, they just finished eight years of trying that with Mike Foster, and had nothing better than Kathleen Blanco to counter with. My own suspicion is that they’re going to try to convince Mitch Landreiu to run for Governor. But I doubt Mitch is going to do so, not when he has a secure sinecure as Mayor of New Orleans waiting for him once Ray-Ray retires…

The Florida Democrats are the same way, they don’t have anyone groomed for statewide office. They spend so much time fighting among themselves that they don’t have anything left for the Republicans.
Of course, the Republicans here are getting like that with several recent spectacular flame-outs by “rising stars”.
In Florida the problem is the term limit amendment which is frustrating a farm system in the state legislature. The other problem is that all of the anti-government rhetoric is taking its toll, so that people think that anyone who runs for office must be a crook.
