The Search For Intelligent Life On Earth

Well, after the comments of BP Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg I believe that any hard feelings toward Britain have been re-routed to Sweden. I certainly hope there are no plans for him to come down to the Gulf Coast.

Of course there are politicians down here who would be happy to see him: Coastal legislators seek end to drilling ban

More than a dozen lawmakers from Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas said at a press conference the ban could cost the region thousands of jobs. They plan to meet with Interior Secretary Ken Salazar on Wednesday to discuss the issue.

But the prize has to go to the governor of Mississippi, Haley Barbour, who believes that instead of putting $20 billion in a fund to reimburse those who have been injured by the spill, the money would be better used to drill more wells.

So the other big oil corporations went to Congress to explain why they are so much more trustworthy than BP, and those nasty Congresscritters ask hard questions: BP rivals struggle to explain why plans look so similar.

They look similar because they reference an expert who has been dead for several years and they want to protect the non-existent walruses in the Gulf of Mexico.

Maybe the walrus thing was a subtle warning. What they were really saying is, “We’ll never be able to stop any oil we spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Eventually, it will spread so far it will kill even walruses in the icy North.”

And there are three or four seals at Ft. Walton Beach’s Gulfarium. They’re probably endangered by the oil, too.

Good luck with that! I gave up years ago.

Mind you, with that said, this guy is the closest I’ve seen in a while (present company excluded, of course!) 😉

Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré: ‘Act like it’s World War III,’ ‘find this oil and kill it.’

Of course, the biggest complete moron in the US Gov HAS to be Bachmann!! every time that stupid cow (with apologies to actual bovines) opens her stupid mouth, I want to put a high-velocity bullet in it!

Bachmann calls oil spill victim escrow account ‘a redistribution-of-wealth fund’

Proves to me God doesn’t actually exist, otherwise moronic hypocritical self-proclaimed Christians such at Bachmann would have been struck dumb (at the very least) long ago!

And many other fools, such as:

GOP congressional candidate: The federal government and BP colluded to spill oil in the Gulf.

Another *wanna-be white* dude with not a chance in hell of ever really being accepted into the White Supremacist GOP club except as for PR value. What is it with these morons? Are the truly that desperate? (And that’s NOT a racist comment, it’s a statement of fact!)

Pfffft!

BTW, It’s very easy to see just how much BP actually gives a rat’s about *the small people* (which just in itself is insulting) by this:

BP keeps cleanup workers getting sick from pollutants out of its records, claims only two such incidents.

Although Louisiana state records indicate that at least 74 oil spill workers have complained of becoming sick after exposure to pollutants, BP’s own official record keeping notes just two such incidents.

All BP exec’s IMNSHO should submit to an X-Ray. If any of them actually have a spine, it’ll be more crooked than a pretzel! They couldn’t lie straight in bed!

John, sooner or later the Loop Current will reconnect and then this stuff is on its way to the Arctic Ocean off Norway. Walruses, narwhals, seals, will all be affected. Prince Charles is also the Duke of Cornwall, and isn’t going to appreciate it coming ashore on the coast of Britain. As an environmentalist there will be “words” that will complicate the lives of the Tory government.

Kryten, they don’t want workers to wear protective equipment because the “visuals” are bad, so workers are going to get sick. Why should BP care? The “workers” are all hired through contractors, so it’s not BP’s problem. Like most large corporations these days, BP has very few actual employees. Its workforce is primarily independent contractors and temps.

Trying to find a half dozen people in Congress who can walk and chew gum at the same time is fool’s errand.

Looks like Bachman (and Palin) might have some competition for the ‘Biggest GOP Female Moron’ award. It’s a tight race…

Angle Aide Calls Reporter An ‘Idiot’ For Pressing Her To Explain ‘Second Amendment Remedies’ Comment

It should be absolutely amazing, but it’s now the ‘norm’. *shrug*

Oh… Almost forgot! You can add that moronic ex-HP fool CEO Carly Fiorina to the list of contenders.

While Hewlett-Packard Benefits From The Stimulus, Fiorina Claims It ‘Manifestly Has Failed’

As The Wonk Room’s Pat Garofalo has pointed out, the Senatorial candidate’s “only real solution to anything is to cut taxes. But that doesn’t do much good for those who are already out of work and have no taxable income, and it doesn’t spur demand that will give businesses more customers and thus a reason to expand.”

Additionally, while Fiorina argues “people are losing their jobs” because of the stimulus, she clearly fails to recognize the stimulus’ positive impact in California. Although the Golden State is undeniably still struggling economically, the more than 70,000 jobs created as a result of the stimulus are difficult to ignore. Furthermore, according to the Congressional Budget Office, the Recovery act has already saved or created 2.8 million jobs — an estimated 3.7 million by September.

Seriously… one only requires the IQ of a stupid cow (bovine) to see she is totally full of *it*! How the hell she ever became CEO of HP I’ll never understand, nor will many other HP *insiders* (I worked for HP during the 90’s)

Whatever…

Well, there are a lot of creatures that have an adverse reaction to daylight. Angle is beyond whacko, she’s a Scientologist. When your “Bible” is written by a mediocre science fiction writer you can’t expect logic.

[Oops, responded from the Admin area and missed the second comment.]

Fiorina rode the tech bubble to the top at AT&T, but was an MBA, not an engineer, and totally missed the reality that everyone spent several years of their hardware acquisition budget on Y2K, and wouldn’t be doing any buying beyond absolute necessity for several years afterwards.

Buying Compaq was a terrible idea because you would have two hardware manufacturing companies not selling product, instead of just one.

She learned “CEO”-ing during boom times and couldn’t make the adjustment. She also was unable to adjust to the cultural differences between AT&T and HP.

I seriously doubt she can even be a credible threat to Barbara Boxer, she should have waited and taken on Diane Feinstein.
