"There are two novels that can change a bookish 14-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

Then there’s kitten Lily. She does not fight me, nor does she run from me. But her idea of play… weaving in and out among the wheels of my wheelchair, sometimes simply stopping out of reach, blocking me altogether from moving… is a more dangerous enterprise than she realizes. She seems to believe in the “it always worked before” philosophy, not realizing how little control I have of the damned thing. I just don’t want to think of what happens to my household if I unintentionally harm that little cat. But unless I sit still for a quarter-hour at a time, that risk is very real. Hope for the best…
You need a squirt gun for discipline and a pocket of small toys for distraction.
So… You gonna call them ‘Sleepy’ and ‘Wacko’? Or maybe ‘Dozey’ and ‘Pita’? LOL
I really envy Sleepy! Sure has sleeping down pat!! 😉 😀 Does he/she ever move? Amazing!
And yeah, squirt gun & toys work! (Hmmm. Actually.. not always! I had a cat that used to laugh at squirt guns!) 🙂
Oh, yes, when the sun goes down, Sleepy zips around, but during the day Sleepy is laid out in the shade somewhere.
My first cat down here, Koshka, would steal and hide the squirt gun. I didn’t have to use it very often as she would wince if I just pointed it at her.
Aw… they are cuties! Sleepy seems to never move. Always on the log pile. Pita is a little rascal. Such a cute picture. Pita looks like he/she’s thinking up some fun.
Pita is always thinking of something that the older cats won’t approve of, and the rain evaporating from that log pile make it one of the coolest places to sleep if you are kitten-sized.
