Sadly, they skipped the sprinkling rite at this morning’s Mass–though that was one of the very few bits of ceremonial they left out. But I think there were enough blessings (and I did take Communion) to offset any lingering traces of evil from the information you refer to. And a middle-to-high Mass in an 800-year-old building complete with Gregorian chant and two organs is enough to put virtually anybody in good spirits.
It does tend to put the mystery back into the process.
