It was Eric Burdon and the Animals doing The House of the Rising Sun, Jack, perhaps the oldest and certainly the best known song about New Orleans bordellos around.

… well, that, but with the voices mostly removed so you can use the video for karaoke. I remember those guys; they could sing louder than that.
Unless I’m mistaken, the song itself is much older than those youths were when they recorded it.
It is a very old song indeed, Steve, but that is a version I remember from my youth and the Joan Baez version didn’t work as well.
The Blind Boys of Alabama do a version of Amazing Grace to the tune of the House of the Rising Sun that works wonderfully, especially if you know the tune.
