Say What?

I’m thoroughly, totally, unequivocally fed up with this garbage.

We are constantly being told by the Shrubbery and the grubs that have affixed to his roots that “all options are on the table” when it is open and obvious that “all options” as a group does not include diplomacy.

The Shrubbery refuses to talk directly with North Korea, Cuba, Hamas, Iran, or anyone else that refuses to agree with him. They seem to be under the delusion that talking to these people is some form of “boon” or “honour” to be graciously bestowed only upon the “worthy”, rather than the normal way of doing business in the world.

If I were in charge of any of those governments, what I would be hearing is that if I agree to everything that the Shrubbery wants and implement all his whims, then he would deign to grant me an audience with a representative of his august personage. My response would be to tell him to shove it where the “sun don’t shine” because I couldn’t remain the leader of a sovereign nation if I didn’t.

Exactly why would anyone think any national leader would willingly take the role of Chamberlain at the Munich Conference?

Talk could lead to negotiation. Negotiation could lead to peaceful resolution. Dubya can’t risk that, now can he?

These people keep getting away this crap. When reality kick in?

I don’t think Russia and China are going to agree to any real pressure on Iran until Iran actually does something that can be verified. Perhaps the absence of a UN resolution will keep the idiots in check for a while.

First, the Shrubbery would have to understand who Chamberlain was, what the Munich Conference was about, and why it might still be relevant 70-odd years on. I doubt very much that there’s anyone in the Cabinet who could fulfill two of those conditions. I’d wager very substantial amounts of money there’s not one of them that could fulfill all three.

Shrub spouted out about the axis of evil. He made those comments to alienate thoste countries… purposefully. Yes, he has a bunch of weapons he wants to use. Gotta keep the weapons manufacturing companies in big money.

Michael, as we know, history is a marvelous shorthand for discussing the situation in the world. How we could have regressed to the point of having a President with no knowledge of history or anything else is surely worth a doctoral thesis.

As some one who spend many enjoyable hours with tabletop war games like Afrika Corps, I want to play Iran. The defense is so much easier once you really look at the maps. The Iranians know what the targets will be, and they have plenty of time to move the important parts and people.

They bought a lot of things from Pakistan that they aren’t using, but they could use. They have their own uranium mines. If they want a nuclear weapon, they will eventually be able to build one, but they can destroy the West by using oil.

OWL, every time he opens his mouth the price of gas goes up a nickel a gallon.

Are all the Shrub-voting SUV owners happy now? Will they be “happier” when they’re paying $5/gallon for gas? $10? How high will it go before someone notices that there is actually a causal connection between what W says about Iran and what oil costs?

I thought my knowledge of history was sketchy until I started observing Dubya. (Yes, I know about Chamberlain and Munich, or at least I think I do.) The world will not come to an end if I didn’t pay attention one day in history class; Dubya’s ignorance, however, might just bring about that awful eventuality. And the most offensive aspect is that he’s proud of his ignorance. (Various Nixonian expletives deleted.)

Exactly, Steve, he thinks it’s something to be proud of, how ignorant he is. He’s repeatedly bringing along some government official with a doctorate to his dog and pony shows and pointing out that the doctor works for a C student.
