"There are two novels that can change a bookish 14-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

The last time I checked, it was 4 P.M. Pacific time. Before that, there was an unannounced outage which must have been a trial run.
Aren’t you glad you switched?
At least you know where to go to find out about the outages.
Oh, yes, I’m very happy now that the switch is over and things are working.
One gets what one pays for. Damn, I’m tired of muttering that to myself over and over again.
Truth be told, I’m too lazy to pack up and move. I haven’t even changed my template since the day I started the blog. Of course, I had an 8-track in my car up until 1985.
I probably wouldn’t have done it just for the blog, but there were a lot of other things going on, so I made the switch. I wouldn’t want anyone to believe that it’s a snap, but things are a lot better than they were a year ago.
If you got more notification, you could plan around it.
I was stunned when I read it at Elayne’s because I had just checked Status and there was no mention, and then I saw it at skippy’s. It must be on the Dashboard, which doesn’t help if you go to post and see it.
Blogger wasn’t mute on it, I just didn’t embed the link like I should have. My bad! Also, they always upt up a warning about a planned maitenance thingie in the Blogger edit window…
I think I must have been looking at a cached copy of Status because you copied their wording. They should force an update, but now that I know I will reload when I look at it.
