It is certainly a different use of a bald eagle, which are not uncommon in the area [Fort Meyers].

Yet another case of the designer letting his vision obscure the nuts-and-bolts reality of the placement of bolt holes on license plates.

It seems to be the colleges and universities who are the most guilty.

Let’s just hope it’s not colleges and universities that tout strong programs in graphic design.

I think the problem is that the people who design them work only on paper and are unfamiliar with actual license plates.

Update: I just checked and Florida A&M is the only state school that gets it right. The Ringling School of Art & Design gets it right, so I put it down to marketing types.
