"There are two novels that can change a bookish 14-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

There’s nothing like a chilly night to make warm-blooded critters friendly with others of their kind… and in some cases, our kind. Great picture as usual, Bryan.
Now THAT is a pile of kitties! Makes me want to take a running start….
Friday Ark #164…
We’ll post links to sites that have Friday (plus or minus a few days) photos of their chosen animals (photoshops at our discretion and humans only in supporting roles). Watch the Exception category for rocks, beer, coffee cups, and….? Visit all the …
Now that is a huge pile of pussycat! cold temperatures can certainly break down barriers: Bebe will curl up with Mimi (Bebe does not like her) and both courl up with Robyn (bot girls love him). Alas Ted curls up with no other. He is Kiipling’s “Cat that walks alone”
Great photo. We’re holding the mid 50s at night so everyone is still acting on their own…once the temp drops into the 40s, we’ll be smothered by the furry blanket.
Great Pic! We have low 30’s here in Hotlanta but no cats.
What a cute pile of foof!
It’s the only time Dot tolerates the “tax” guys, Steve.
I had to crawl out from underneath that scrum in the morning, Ellroon.
Robyn is best equipped for the cold, although Bebe isn’t far behind, but another heat source is always welcome. Ted has to be aloof from it all, not much different than people, Jams.
Yeah, CG, forty is a magic number for togetherness.
If energy prices go much higher you ought to consider them, FM.
Only if you don’t have to feed, water, and clean litter boxes, LK, although they do reduce the heating bill.
one, two, three, four, five, six…
did i miss any! are they noisy at night? i ask because i have one noisy kitty.
They’re not noisy in a “meow” fashion, but the 1AM tag games of the “tax” guys [they were born on April 15th – Excise in the front, and Income and Property in the back] as they rocket through the house and leap to and from everything in around does get noisy when they knock things over.
Bet you’re toasty!
I just happy that Sox stays down at the foot. If he decided to flop on my chest like Ringo does breathing could be a problem.
Breathing is a problem when I kitty sit Spider. She likes to snuggle up close enough to the nose so she can bite it to wake you up in the morning…that generally involves the furry bowling ball body ending up ON the chest.
Spider looked like she is in Sox’s weight class, which is, indeed that of a league bowling ball – Ouch.
I’ve got bruises to prove it.
It looks like you copied my Friday cat blogging picture! Only there are more cats on that bed:) I like the way you’ve managed to catch the light? in that photo. It makes it look kind of antique, or something. What gorgeous babies.
