Birthday Boys
February 12th, 1809 saw the birth of two men whose lives still reverberate today: Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin. Born an ocean apart in very different circumstances they would both lead lives that inspire admiration and hatred to this day.

OT: I’ve been having trouble viewing your site in firefox and your header’s diappeared in IE7.
“Looking up” site sometimes succeeds, sometimes doesn’t, as has been the case for a week or two. Viewing in IE7, I get the same result as Frederick: blank area where banner should be. (Takes up space, but no graphic.)
that’s the way why now? has always looked in ie6 from my computer, blank space where the header would be.
i get timeout error messages in firefox. no timeouts with opera, but the page looks funny [though not any different from when i was complaining about that a long time ago].
darwin of course is a demigod in my book, but there are days when i wonder if lincoln hasn’t got a lot to answer for. ending slavery was a good thing, but bush and cheney would probably have done a lot less damage if they’d only been commander-in-chiefing a handful of confederate states.
I can’t find any other errors and Firefox updated recently, so I may check to see what they’re up to that would have affected the site.
I’m also having problems with a couple of news sites, so that may be why it occurred out of nowhere.
