Ancient Blog Shuts Down

After a decade Kenneth Quinnell is shutting down T. Rex’s Guide to Life to concentrate on his group blog, the Florida Progressive Coalition. In blog years the Guide to Life was Jurassic but the coming election has made trying to maintain the two blogs too much work.

Two blogs are emphatically not better than one, from the standpoint of the blogger. I wish Kenneth much success in the new group blog, and fully understand and support his reasons for the change.

The FPC blog has been around for a while. It shows up in my comments when they do a blog-around.

Kenneth is really trying to get something going with the Democratic Party in Florida, but the primary problem is pretty destructive to those efforts.

Thanks for the shout out.

While the primary may have affected other things, it hasn’t had any negative effect on what FPC is doing, we’ve had great success in the last year.

There goes a member of the Liberal Coalition. Damn, that’s going to hurt……

Kenneth, the FPC blog is one of the few things that is working in Florida; it’s the party that’s a mess. The names of Florida Democrats in Congress appear all too frequently on the wrong roster when it comes to votes.

Rook, he has just changed blogs, not “barlowed”.

He’s more Amanda’ed than Barlowed. That is, apparently he is moving into politics big time and doesn’t want his personal blog to be an issue, thus has disappeared it to minimize the chances of someone going through his back issues for oppo research and doing an Amanda Marcotte on him.

He’s been in Florida politics for a long time as an activist, so there’s little that hasn’t been copied from the blog. With a minimum of help of the Party, he could help them build a great base, but the state party just can’t get it’s act together. Senator Bill Nelson is the senior Democrat in the state, which is pretty sad.

Kenneth is definitely a cool blogger. It’s too bad he closing up the T-Rex. I haven’t visited it lately, but what blogs have I visited lately? When I stopped by, I enjoyed reading what he has to say. I’ll have to stop at the group political blog, and see what’s going on. There is also “The Practical Press” to consider, too. He’s always done a great job with it. Blogs/online magazines really take up a lot of time.

As the election gets closer, his time gets tighter. It’s a reasonable compromise.
