Australian Flooding Spreading
New South Wales has joined Queensland in the segment of Australian under flood waters:
Flood waters on the New South Wales north coast are rising and thousands of residents are continuing to evacuate.
…A torrential 240 millimetres [9.45 inches] of rain in 50 hours forced the State Emergency Service to issue the order to leave.
In contrast, we have only had an inch of rain so far today as the system that dumped all the water on Central Florida passes to the South of us. This system caused the shuttle to abort a landing attempt, and may require a California landing.

*sigh* Yeah. And down South in Vic, they are talking about draining water from the major Yarra River, which apparently is only at about 10% capacity anyway.
I wonder if there’s a way to tilt Aus down Sth so the water runs our way? Or maybe… Our, maybe the stupid Federal Gov will tell the moronic State Gov’s to shut the f*ck up and take over control of water in Aus and build a National pipeline. Given what this idiocy is costing taxpayers, I don’t believe they are all not screaming about it. One half of Aus is flooded, and the other half is dry as a bone! Insane. It isn’t just the USA that’s FUBAR!
If they spent the money on a pipeline instead of levees and dykes [I always use the Dutch spelling] they would be further ahead. This is obviously going to be the new norm for the foreseeable future, so it should be planned for.
It would make sense for NSW to transport some of that water to their South, as it will have many of the same problems as SA.
Welcome to the wonderful world of “states rights”, where politicians refuse to solve problems to prove they are independent of the federal government, no matter who gets hurts.
