North Korea Has A Tantrum

The ABC reports that North Korea detonates nuclear bomb

North Korea has staged a “successful” underground nuclear test, the communist state’s official media said.

The North “successfully conducted another underground nuclear test on May 25 as part of its measures aimed at strengthening its self-defence nuclear deterrent in every way,” the Korean Central News Agency said.

CNN is reporting that the US Geological Survey has detected a 4.7-magnitude earthquake in North Korea, 375kms north-east of the capital Pyongyang.

This is the same area where they set off the first test. They said they would do it after the UN chastised them for their long range missile test, and they feel like they are being ignored again.

They are probably annoyed by all of the coverage of the non-existent Iranian program, while they actually have nuclear capabilities. It is past time to look at the real threats in the world and deal with them.

The UN must pass a resolution letting the N. Korea know that it absolutely and firmly condenms such actions, after all the N. Korean could use more toilet paper.

The Security Council just did that, and it was unanimous, which indicates that Kim is in trouble with the Chinese leadership.

North Korea needs more of everything except weapons. The Chinese have been supporting them, but that may stop unless Kim starts acting a bit more rational.

Some think that this test was part of an internal struggle withing the leadership in North Korea, and Kim did it to demonstrate that he still controls things after his stroke.

Why can’t Kim just jump off a cliff?

He doesn’t need a cliff, his elevator shoes are high enough that he could pass to the underworld if he fell off of those.

I’m not sure that North Korea can afford cliffs any more and they don’t have the electricity to operate elevators to go to the top of any of their buildings.

North Korea and Zimbabwe are in competition to be the most ill-managed countries on the planet. The remnants of the former Soviet Union can’t even approach the level of incompetence in leadership of these two nations, although it could be argued that Mugabe should lead because his nation fell further as a result of a wealth of natural resources that North Korea doesn’t possess.
