Since Noel transitioned to an extratropical storm, the National Hurricane Center stopped issuing advisories on it and refers people to their local weather stations.

Fortunately the Canadian Hurricane Centre is picking up the slack and issuing reports on not-hurricane Noel:

AT 9.00 PM ADT [7PM CDT]… POST-TROPICAL STORM NOEL WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 32.6 N AND LONGITUDE 72.0 W… ABOUT 235 NAUTICAL MILES [270 miles] OR 440 KM SOUTHEAST OF CAPE HATTERAS. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE ESTIMATED AT 75 KNOTS [86 mph]… 139 KM/H… AND CENTRAL PRESSURE AT 978 MB. NOEL IS MOVING NORTH NORTHEAST AT 24 KNOTS [28 mph]… 44 KM/H.

THE CENTRE OF POST-TROPICAL STORM NOEL IS FORECAST TO TRACK ACROSS WESTERN NOVA SCOTIA..THE BAY OF FUNDY AND WESTERN PEI [Prince Edward Island] SATURDAY NIGHT THEN CROSS THE GULF OF ST LAWRENCE SUNDAY AND THROUGH SOUTHEASTERN LABRADOR LATE SUNDAY. ALTHOUGH WE ARE CALLING IT A POST-TROPICAL STORM WE EXPECT IT TO BE ACCOMPANIED BY HURRICANE FORCE WINDS. THE CURRENT TRACK IS ADJUSTED SLIGHTLY WEST FROM THE PREVIOUS FORECAST. THE PUBLIC IS ADVISED TO NOT FOCUS ON THE ACTUAL TRACK OF THE STORM CENTER SINCE THE HIGH WINDS AND HEAVY RAINS WILL EXTEND VERY FROM THE TRACK LINE ITSELF.

Did you insert the [Prince Edward Island] or did the ALL CAPS suddenly go away for that little bit?

I hope it doesn’t do too much damage to the Maritimes, but I’m grateful for the cool front that swept it away from South Florida and brought a beautiful day with clear skies and temps in the 70’s here.

Everything in brackets is mine, Whig, the Canadians no longer use miles or mph and I assume most people outside of New England wouldn’t know PEI as anything other than an architect.

The angle and timing is wrong for major water problems in the Bay of Fundy, Bobby, but they will definitely lose some boats and buildings which is why they refer to “WRECKHOUSE” winds.
