Excellent?
For unknown reasons Michael at Cannablog thinks this place is Excellent, and has given it an award.
Regardless of my own feelings of worthiness, or lack thereof, there are a number of people among the denizens of blogtopia™, who should be recognized.
Andante at Collective Sigh has gotten some bad health news and is having to deal with the treatment and concerns over paying for it. She shows excellence in spirit in the way she dealing with it.
Michael at Musing’s musings is displaying his excellence is dealing with the tragedy of the attack at NIU. He is chronicling his feelings about adjusting to this new reality.
Rook at Rook’s Rant keeps on keeping on dealing with what the world throws at him.
Catnapping at Odd Neighbor Illustrations produces beautiful artwork in a location where refrigeration thermometers are all they use this time of year.
Elayne Riggs of Pen-Elayne on the Web is one of the most consistent bloggers around. Her “Silly Sites” are there every day, and every month starts with “White Rabbits”.
Fallenmonk of Fallenmonk is the source for skytracking information on satellites as well as a recipes for traditional and untraditional grits.
Jack K. is the Grumpy Forester and among the reasons he’s grumpy is having to deal with dial-up, because no one thinks that people outside the cities in Oregon want or need broadband.
PoP of Morning Martini is always worth reading, especially for Fred the Cat’s Friday sermon.
Scorpio can be found at Eccentricity, Mockingbird’s Medley, and Pacific Views which certainly qualifies for excellence.

Hey, it’s a good blog you got here.
Good, I can accept after I found the stupid one pixel high graphic that was producing the odd vertical lines.
Excellent is the gender matching software I produced to scrub mailing lists.
If you ever wander down to Coronado, look at the phone book. That’s some of my software. Not the big book for San Diego, but the smaller book just for Coronado.
[sigh] Now I have to write a post highlighting 10 blogs, all of who probably already have been highlighted. But, since I am not in the mood to research which blog has, and which blog hasn’t, don’t be surprised if I re-reward some blogs.
Okay, all snark aside, I will be spending a bit of time thinking about my post for this bit of blogger’s tag. Be patient please.
Congrats! 😀
I’ve spent more time here than any other blog the past month (mostly because I simply haven’t had the time nor inclination to be everywhere). 😉
To paraphrase the great Gump… ‘Excellent is as excellent does!’ LOL
Enjoy it while it lasts. 😉
Cheers!
Thank you, Bryan! It always surprises me when people like the things I write. Yesterday was anniversary number 4. Yes, I started because the political climate was making me crazy. Its job may almost be complete.
I hope that you continue with your own excellent reporting and discussion.
A well deserved “excellent” Bryan and thanks for the ack.
Eclectic is more descriptive, abusing the term to mean whatever is annoying me at the moment, because I rarely have the time to do the longer pieces I would prefer. Like a lot of people, blogging is therapeutic as I have anger issues that are better dealt with on a keyboard.
My attitude about memes is to avoid them when possible, not to expect others to respond, and play with them if I find them of interest.
In this case it was a way of expressing my appreciation to some of the people I like that others may not know about. I really do read most of my blogroll. I tried to avoid people who had already been tagged, like Steve Bates, Hipparchia, Map, et al., and am not sure about the rules because Scorpio may count as one to three choices.
As I told ellroon, who named my blog, the award looks a lot like the Enron “E” to me. I don’t think a Texan would be well advised to post it on his blog… 🙂
…why, yes, I am Grumpy, but thanks for stopping by; I really appreciate it. Never fear, though; high-speed should be coming any year now…
I was of the same mind, Steve, and spent some time back-tracking the graphic to see if there was a better original without the connotation, but apparently it is designed to look like the rating sticker on computer games which are all tilted.
Sort of like the fiber that is in the ground about 75 feet away but isn’t available until “sometime in the future” or “real soon now”, depending on who you talk to at the telco. This new Mitsubishi satellite may turn up the heat on them, Jack.
Woo-hoo, I got an “excellent” – thanks Bryan!!
You have one of the few surviving “journals” as everyone else has moved into political commentary. Consistency does count and it is hard to do,
hehehehehehehe… i couldn’t blogger to even load it when i put up my post.
