It’s Always Something

While we have had too much rain, Central Florida has been in a drought and plagued with numerous wildfires, a couple of dozen 100 acre+ fires at any given time, closing roads, and taking some houses and businesses.

Well, the rains have come, and now there is Central Florida flooding.

It should put out a lot of the fires and will definitely help raise the levels in lakes, and the aquifer, but this will have to continue for a long time before the water shortage is made up.

Yeah! The gods are laughing at us down here! Qld just had over 200mm rain and all dams, rivers etc are full, and we’ve only had 5mm! 🙁 Our reservoirs ar at 27%. Not good!

I’d move Nth to Qld… but I might rust. 😉 LOL

CJ, Dana Rohrbacher says it isn’t necessary because there is no global climate change. Maybe if we had some politicians who were in denial because it would cost their masters money, we might be able to address these problems.

Qld can’t catch a break. I assume that NSW is still damming the water transfer to SA, because no one wants to do anything simply because it’s the right thing to do.

They have to pump all of that water somewhere, so it makes sense to send it where people want it.

Western US in extreme drought, too. It’s going to be another nasty wildfire season.

A good portion of Santa Barbara in only 18′ above Sea Level….scientists are predicting the seas to rise quite a bit above that so I think that my favorite named road in town (Salsipuedes) will again live up to its name. (Get Out If You Can.)

cookie jill´s last blog post..Since it looks like Stateside has closed…

Central Florida is still being drowned today. Queensland in Australia doesn’t get a chance to dry out between floods. The West Coast, when it gets rain, it isn’t at the right time, and it all comes at once.

It’s a good thing that Al Gore has BMI issues, or people might fight out that the bloody weather is all screwed up. Every day I check the local record highs and lows, and every day they are from the last 10 years.
