Clueless Twit

The Shrubbery managed to locate the White House rose garden and let people know that he had been told about the bridge collapse…except the statement starts with:

Good morning. I just finished a Cabinet meeting. One of the things we discussed was the terrible situation there in Minneapolis. We talked about the fact that the bridge collapsed, and that we in the federal government must respond and respond robustly to help the people there not only recover, but to make sure that lifeline of activity, that bridge, gets rebuilt as quickly as possible.

To that end, Secretary Peters is in Minneapolis, as well as Federal Highway Administrator Capka. I spoke to Governor Pawlenty and Mayor Rybak this morning. I told them that the Secretary would be there. I told them we would help with rescue efforts, but I also told them how much we are in prayer for those who suffered. And I thank my fellow citizens for holding up those who are suffering right now in prayer.

…then he starts on how the Democrats are holding everything up.

Holden Caulfield of First Draft, the keeper of ponies, counted: 141 words on the bridge collapse, 504 words blasting Democrats on the budget.

First off, the search and rescue operation ended last night, and they moved into recovery this morning at first light. I have no idea what purpose is served by the Secretary of Transportation or the Federal Highway Administrator being on the scene, other than possible photo ops. They both think that roads and bridges should be private toll operations, not free, public facilities. I didn’t hear anything about a disaster declaration, so they aren’t bringing any cash with them.

I would also point out, that, for someone who keeps harping on what a great man of faith he is, he doesn’t seem to be able to phrase a grammatical sentence with the word prayer in it.

His budget complaints are total garbage. The first thing the 110th Congress had to do was pass all of the spending bills that the Republan-led 109th Congress failed to deal with. There were no complaints about this failure of the last Congress. I assume the leadership is deciding what they are not going to fund.

He really has a way with words, doesn’t he? People suffering in prayer…

He wants to be there to be the Comfortinator! He knows how to lay comfort on the little peeples. Money? No. But comfort doesn’t cost anything and he gets photo ops. The bonus is he gets to kick the Democrats for free!

You have to live in a hurricane zone to understand exactly what I mean when I say “disaster tourist.” Most people don’t see them often enough to understand why I really, truly dislike the politicians and media who show up at a disaster, and not only do not bring any help with them, but actually waste resources that are needed to assist the people actually affected.

People who are concerned with possible looting don’t appreciate all of the law enforcement resources sucked away to protect someone who doesn’t need to be there. When water and ice are in short supply, you don’t want to see the air conditioned media trucks.

If they wanted to drive a semi with a load of food, water, ice, and shelters in that they had paid for, then fine. But when I am sweating with a chainsaw in 90/90 [degree/humidity] I don’t much appreciate being part of the scenery for a photo op.

He’s the decider !

I had a mental picture of him stumbling and staggering along to the rose garden bumping his head, scraping his ass and tearing his clothes on the thorns before he lurched into view.
So I got a laugh and thanks.

JFK must be spinning in his grave.

JFK – what about Queen Liz looking at the White House rose garden and knowing what the Shrubbery did to the garden her mother planted.

The man is a disgrace. He had to start his own companies to get a job because no one in a real business would be stupid enough to hire him with his history of failure.

I’m getting real sick of this crap about how everyone thought this or that – no, the Beltway media pundits got sold a bill of goods and are too pathetic to admit it. Two minutes of that patently false West Texas accent and I knew what he was – a bad actor playing a role in a bad play designed to appeal to a specific audience. He reads scripts, not speeches.
