What Are These People Drinking?

I saw this on the CNN TickerObama invokes Bible in NOLA.

I thought I’d check it out and learned:

“Getting ready to talk to you today, I recall what Jesus said at the end of the Sermon on the Mount,” Obama said at New Orleans’ First Emmanuel Baptist Church.

So, Barak Obama speaks at a Sunday service at a Baptist church and “invokes the Bible” and CNN thinks this is “news?” As Terry Pratchett wrote, this is “olds.” If Senator Obama had “invoked Satan,” that would be “news.” [I’m not even going to bother with the abuse of “invokes.]

What’s next – Jimmy Carter discusses the Bible in his Sunday school classes?

The people wrote this are actually being paid. They are receiving money to do this.

I guess it’s news for the people who are so wanting to know what Obama has been doing. The headline is a little too much. I guess they’re trying to draw people in. AOL does that crap all the time. They have some headline that makes one want to click the link. It takes a long time to get the page, then might be another link that has to be clicked, or the feature which turns out to be something trivial (in my opinion, of course).

The ting that bugs me, OWL, is that CNN promotes itself as a NEWS site, and it reports stupid things like this on its breaking political wire.

AOL is selling ad space and wants click-throughs to boost revenue, what’s CNN’s excuse?

CNN is selling ad space and wants to boost revenue. What else is new?

CNN is getting all “religious”…It’s been running a variety of series on “religion” or “Jesus” stuff.

Guess it doesn’t want to be called Godless anymore.

Give me Hugo Chavez’ “sulpher” comment anyday.

Hell, Whig, they could have done that with Gonzo rumors or talking-head rants, I think Jill maybe on the trail of a new meme at CNN – we are religious too.

In other earthshaking news, the earth is not flat.

CNN was once my ‘home’ page, but I’m looking for a good replacement with less video & other slow-loading junk.

Andante, they are all trying to distract us with picture rather than information. Their “new look” is more devoid of news and information than their old site.
