The Snowden Effect

An alarm company called my Mother and opened their sales pitch by saying that the FBI estimated that there was a burglary every so many minutes in the US and there had been break-ins in my Mother’s area.

My Mother’s response: It’s probably the FBI breaking in to bug people’s phones….

Not a lot of trust in the government anymore.

Now we know where you get your sharp wit from. Now, that was funny.

LOL Yeah… That was funny (and possibly true!) 😉 😈

I think I like your Mom! 😀

PS: Was there every seriously any trust in the Gov? Any gov? (by rational & sane people I mean, not the majority).

That’s hilarious! If there were ever any question whose kid you were, or how you came to have such a dry sense of humor, now we know…

Tell your Mother she has a fan club online!

I will pass along your comments, and I thank you for them.

The Depression was the background of her school days, and World War II arrived with graduation, so she remembers when the government could work, and would work for the good of the people. Having lived through World War II and given that what my Father did in the military during his career was always classified, she understands about secrets and the need to keep them, but knows that it doesn’t cover crimes and screw-ups. She understood that I might not actually be at where I was supposedly stationed, and adjusted.

She isn’t impressed with spying on people for no good reason, because she understands that it means not enough people are watching the real problems.

Currently the only current or former President that she feels understands the Middle East is Jimmy Carter, because he’s the only one who has actually accomplished anything there.
