"There are two novels that can change a bookish 14-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. I think the US had a draw because Italy viewed us as lightweights due to the Czech game. Nonetheless, I’m picking France to win — obviously I hate America 😉
The US team can win, they just can’t do it consistently, and they didn’t act like they wanted it.
I think France wants to win for Zidane, and he’s playing as well as he ever has. The Italians have to be thinking about the problems with the game at home.
I heard a little “secret” about Italy a few years ago in Spanish speaking TV. They apparently are not allowed to have sex during the first round, apparently so that they will be more aggressive. Interestingly, they may be more aggressive during the first rounds, but also more disorganized. They usually barely make it to the second round.
As of the second round, they are allowed to have sex, apparently so that they will be more relaxed and less anxious about the more important games. Historically, they tend to play better in the latter rounds.
I think it’s going to be a wonderful game, both teams play beautifully. I wouldn’t be sad if France won, but…. Italia vincera e sara il campeone… There, I guess my prediction has been made…
I’ll stick with Les Bleus, I think Zidane really wants this to top his career.
