Heads Up Atlantic Coast

Tropical Depression 2 with the possibility of becoming Tropical Storm Beryl has formed southeast of the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

People on the coast might want to keep an eye on the weather for the next few days.

Bryan, it must be a mistake: Beryl isn’t heading for you or me, and it seems it may actually miss andante and the Scrutiny Hooligans. OTOH, it looks like blogAmy and echidne had better keep their eyes open.

I guess someone would hit me if I said this hurricane season is starting out looking like a Beryl of fun…

A lower than normal jet stream is keeping the wind sheer high and tropical weather out of the Gulf. When that system moves, as it will eventually, our turn will come.
