Please, Stand By
Northern California is having a REAL Summer, thanks to the Global Warming [that doesn’t exist] and this is causing power outages [not all of them were created by Enron].
A major NAP [Network Access Point], Google, Blogger, and a number of other “tubes” are in the Bay Area. Expect things to be slow and lethargic until the heat breaks and power normalizes.
Spare some cooling thoughts for the people of St. Louis and NYC who are having their own power problems. Been there, done that, don’t recommend it.
Update: The LA NAP and MySpace also having problems.

Holy cr*p it’s hot here in Santa Barbara. We usually don’t get hotter than 80 or so…yesterday it was 101. AND muggy. Thought for a second I was in Nawhlins.
Just waiting for the wildfires to start. Every 5 years or so we get a good fire going that takes out 400 houses or so. I think we’re due one…and now with CA National Guard not really around to fight the fires…guess we’ll just have to take out our graham crackers, hershey bars and marshmallows for a good ol’ FEMA campfire.
Have mercy, the ice plant will “melt” along the freeways.
Yeah, it was really rainy last year, so there’s a lot of fuel in the canyons. Triple digits on the coast is obscene. There’s 60° water to cool things off when the wind changes.
Hey, we cooled down to 108 today. Yesterday it was 111 and the day before it was 112. No global warming here.
CG, I’m been watching you posts and they are just horrendous. We get heat indexes like that, but not those temperatures.
Yep..and couple or TEN more years of this…and maybe even the Global Warming Stupidest Nay-Sayer will think it’s about *time* to do something. Blech!
Silly people….don’t you know it’s just the natural cycle? Why, when I was a kid I remember it snowed at least a foot every month or so here during the winter, and now….
Oh….never mind.
I remember having to insulate pipes and having the fleas and palmetto bugs die off during the three winter freezes we use to have. It has been a while.
