"There are two novels that can change a bookish 14-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

I am an adherent of that quasi-religious movement that states that “Godwin is dead.” Not the man, of course; the Law. Today, at best, its application is a Hitler-miss proposition.
The problem I see is that people fail to understand that Hilter knew what he was doing, and intended to do it. He was crazy, but he wasn’t stupid.
Most of today’s politicians have more in common with failed monarchs like Nicholas II of Russia, who are too stupid to understand the actual affect of what they are doing. Many, like Charles I of England and Scotland, feel that they are in charge by divine right, and that whatever they do is by definition legal and correct.
If you are going to claim they’re Hitler, show me the plan.
