Five Years
It’s hard to believe that I have been doing this for 5 years.
Thanks to everyone who stops by, even if it’s only for the Cat Blogging.

Mark Twain
"There are two novels that can change a bookish 14-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

Bryan,
On the contrary — my thanks to you for blogging, day after day. Usually, I am in agreement with you, occassionaly not, and sometimes I just don’t know. In all cases, your posts are thought-provoking or educational or entertaining, or all of the above.
I deeply appreciate your efforts. May you take delight in your blogging for many years to come!
Best Wishes,
Jim
Congratulations Bryan! Many don’t last long. Very glad you are still around. 🙂 You’ve done very well IMHO, and you can be deservedly proud. 🙂
My sincere thanks for allowing me to blow off steam, and apologies for the occasional derailment’s! 😆 😉
I’d offer a celebratory drink, but it would have to be non-alcoholic, which is not much fun! 😀
However… Here’s to many more! Cheers and salute! 🙂
Congratulations Bryan. may there be many more years of quality blogging!

Five? Then that means I am coming up on 6??????? Oh, do I feel old.
Blogging age is like cat age. Ya know?

Glad to see you’re still at it, Bryan. Yours is one of the most consistently worthwhile blogs on the Web. You keep writing those posts; I’ll keep reading them!

Kudos, cousin! Many happy returns!
some silverware, in a nice wooden chest, would be in order then?

5 years is amazing. Congrats and keep going.

It is nice to know that at least someone else reads this stuff, whether they agree or not. If I had wanted people to agree with me I would have stayed in the service and become an E-9, or possibly and O-5 based on the last assignment I was offered.
It is nice to interact with people who don’t get all of their “facts” from Fox News and Rush, like my neighbors, many of whom are actually very nice people.
Congrats! Five years of interesting posts! I may not comment on many, but I do read them:)

Oh, Rook, I think your place is filed under archaeology, not history, in Internet terms.
LOL @ Bryan! You remind me of something my Grandfather taught me when I was always agreeing with him (he had a wicked walking cane and knew how to use it!) 😉 He said “If two people always agree, one of them is unnecessary!” 😀
He’s right, and I have worked with people who did nothing but agree. They were worthless. The world’s best writers all rely on editors and proofreaders to catch the mistakes they know are in their work. If you have to defend your opinion, you can hone it until you are certain, or give it up, because on second thought, it won’t work.
I used to hate waiting until my students were comfortable enough to ask questions, because after you have taught something several times, there is a tendency to go on autopilot. If you really care about what you are teaching you want people to understand it, and that requires their asking questions. That was the main reason I shifted to the evening classes that were generally attended by older students – they don’t have a problem challenging things.
Happy Blogiverary!
BTW I try not to stop by JUST for cat blogging. I look at my feeds first, lol. And they are always the first thing that catch my eye!

Thank you, OWL, who must have posted at the same time as I did last night, and Moi.
Not to be critical, Moi, but it has been a while since we’ve seen a certain marmalade kitty or a fluffy white dog.
Congrats on the 5 years… even if I am a few days late.

Thanks for noticing. You must be one of those people with a “real life”.
Nahhh… LadyMin is like the rest of us… 😉 But she has a project to occupy her now. Birdwatching and recording. It’s on her blog. 😉 I guess that’s some kind of life though. Certainly better than mine! 😆
OT: Was offline pretty much all day. Had a severe thunderstorm last night and early today. Lost the phone and internet. A couple big trees on the nature strip got shredded nearby in this street, and council was out with the cherry picker, chainsaws and the big tree shredder. Didn’t take long to clean up. 🙂 On the plus side, the rain is cooling! And I really like the rain (and I don’t mind thunderstorms either, unless they disrupt my Internet!) 😆
The extremely hot weather you’ve been having argues for thunderstorms rather than rain. We usually get them when the land gets hot enough to start the on shore winds, which are very wet. The high temperatures really shoot that humid air high up to create the necessary turbulence for a thunderstorm.
Even without a true tornado, you can get microbursts of very high winds embedded.
Yep, I check in on Lady Min’s bird, plant, and recipe blogging. That’s one of the reasons for the CommentLuv plug-in.
yep, i’m a fan of the birds and the recipes and use the commentluv to get to her blog for a fix.
