The Current “Score”

From the Wikipedia page on the conflict:

Israel
Civilians: 38 killed
Military: 58 killed

Lebanon
Civilians: 497-828 killed
Lebanese army: 34 killed
Hezbollah militia: 83 killed
Amal militia: 8 killed
PFLP militia: 1 killed

[Israel claims 400+ Hezbollah militia killed and 16 captured]

Israel claims that they are targeting Hezbollah and Hezbollah is targeting Israeli civilians. Both have an accuracy problem as 60% of those killed in Israel are military, while, using the lowest number of civilian deaths for Lebanon and the Israel claim for Hezbollah deaths, 55% of those killed in Lebanon are civilians.

God Bryan,
Everyone knows that one Isaeli life is worth at least 1000 Lebanese and 1243 Palestinians, for example, and one American life is worth about 2.3 Israeli. You do the math… Of course, a Sudanese life is worth .000000000001 Isreli and 0.0 X E-27 American lives.

It’s all written in the Karl Rove “Guide to Machiavellian Endeavors,” soon to be on a shelf near you…

That is exactly the attitude that makes me so angry, and you are absolutely correct that it is the “conventional wisdom” that some groups are more human than others.

Every human being is a precious, unique thing deserving of respect and concern, which is why there needs to be an immediate cease fire to stop the killing.
