Do Not Adjust Your Set

Blogger is having some problems that they think they have fixed, but they thought they had them fixed the last several days.

They aren’t down, they are just a little tentative.

…when you live in the dial-up wilderness like I do, sometimes you don’t even really notice “tentative”. But, as always with Blogger, we get what we pay for…

They are victims of their success. They don’t seem to be able to scale up fast enough to keep up with growth. There are worse problems to have.

I seldom notice anything going on with them. I usually have quality service. The problems I usually have are when I try to upload photos. Sometimes, I have to upload them twice. If I’m in a hurry, I just say, “Forget it, I’ll do it later!”

OWL, that approach doesn’t work with me. By the time things are up & running again, I’ve forgotten what I wanted to do!!

Shortly they will just stop trying to guess at usage and add some major capacity and things will settle down for a few months anyway.

I think the Katrina anniversary and Ernesto are dragging down the system. Lots of updates today. Weather Underground gave me the first busy signal I can remember today.

I’m not unsympathetic; I’ve been there myself.

If they ever fix things for real, what will we use to replace the term “bloggered”?

There’s always FEMAed.

Yep…nothing for us techno-dweebs to DO…but sit back, relax and catch up on my *other* blog reading. (But on a back-to-half-day-of-school…I’ll take it! *wink*)

Actually, it’s nice that there’s a mix. Without BlogSpot we would lose one entire category of conversation.
