What A Wuss
Congressman Eric Cantor took to the stage to respond to the threats to Democratic lawmakers and said that his office was fired on. Alas he never expected that there were going to be forensics involved: Richmond Police Detail Shooting Of Cantor’s Office.
The short version – some whacko fired a gun into the air and gravity took it to an empty meeting room in the building where Cantor’s office is located. The bullet broke the glass, but was deflected to the floor by the miniblinds.
Of course, as a Congresscritter, Mr. Cantor could introduce a bill to make it a Federal felony to shoot into the air, and then he would have something to worry about.

“Celebratory shooting” has been a problem in that (bad) part of Richmond for years and years. They shoot up in the air to celebrate pretty much *anything* — Christmas, New Year’s, births, marriages, or just getting really, really drunk that evening. This incident apparently happened on the weekend when the offices were unoccupied and undoubtedly involved much alcohol and much shouting of “Woohoo! I’m so f**king drunk!” somewhere around 2AM on Sunday morning (closing time for Richmond bars).
So, unless liberals have suddenly developed ballistic guided bullets that can fall out of the air and hit wherever liberals want them to hit, Cantor is… err… full of **it? Is that a fair statement?

You would have to be a hell of shot to be blocks away using a ballistic parabola to strike a particular building that you can’t see, or just a drunk firing in the air, like they do down here.
It’s odd, but people only seem to do it on New Year’s around here.
Hell, they do it in San Diego county.
Cantor didn’t need this complaint to prove he was full of it. This really isn’t in the class of a coffin on your lawn or brick with a note through your window.
If he would like to find out what the real thing is like, all he has to do is introduce a gun bill, especially a bill that would involve a tax on guns or ammo. Then he would learn about the crazies.
They just have to play the “but wait a minite…we’re victims too” role.

The way the corporate media works, whatever claims they make are given the same weight as the criminal investigations initiated in the Democratic cases. Every story has two equal sides to the media.
Waitaminute… I just thought of something. The GOP *does* have someone who is experienced at shooting things from helicopters. The only question is: What did Eric Cantor do to piss off Sarah Palin? 😉
