The “Old” Man
Harumpf… Harumpf.
[Editor: This is Blaze, the alpha tom and largest of the ferals. He has a rakish scar over his right eye as a result of his early attempts to assume the position. He’s in for some cold nights because the alpha tom doesn’t have any friends to cuddle up to – it’s part of the job description.

Wow he is one powerful looking beastie. I suppose there’s the loneliness of command. Is his position assured or does he have serious contenders?
The alpha tom position always has contenders, from within the local group, and outsiders. Unlike cats, toms are not tied to a territory unless they are alpha, they roam.
Awww! Blaze looks like he could be one of the Three Muskateers. He’s so dashing and strikingly handsome! I hope he has a nice thick coat for those cold winter days and nights. It doesn’t really get THAT cold, there, does it?
There is occasionally ice at the shoreline on the bayou, which is salt water. It can get cold, but there are places where I put lights down and let them warm concrete pads and floors out of the wind.
