[Editor: This little juvenile has been by a couple of times. I think she is getting out and having a walkabout. She avoids the ferals. She wondered what the flash was, as I wondered why the camera thought it was necessary.]

the genes in the feral population are really mixing here. when i ‘adopted’ my crew 3 years ago, the 2 toms were the solid black shiny manx and the fluffy splashy black-and-white with long plumy tail [like my b&w grrrl]. two of the neighborhood toms i’ve been seeing this year are both fluffy manxs: one is a black tuxedo with just the minimum white to qualify for the label tuxedo and the other is a splashy black-and-white.

Jams, she doesn’t act like a feral, and I think I’ve seen her sitting in a neighbor’s window when I went to get the mail.
Hipparchia, toms can move around while the cats establish and defend a “hunting range” so the gene pool changes. My group is actually the consolidation of three groups that once numbered about 5 dozen, but “trap-neuter-release” has them down to about a dozen. Molly is the only one that really visits all three areas, although two of three are catless now, with the exception of Molly.
This cat is taller and has darker stripes than Lucrezia, in addition to the white mittens.
I really like the look of that cat!

She is a pretty little thing, and if she lives where I think fortunate enough to have her mother and two humans to cater her whims.
She is durned cute! 😀 She has a bit of the old bobcat gene I think. 😉
She looks to be a bit too much of a *princess* type to he hanging around the ferals. Maybe she’d like most Royals and looking for a bit of the old’ *rough trade* for a bit of fun. 😉 😆
I had to do a photography course many years ago (guess where…) and we were told that using the flash even in daylight was a good idea because of shadows etc. There was a term for it that I’ve long forgotten, and most pro photog’s will use a flash in daylight (you can often see them on wedding shoots for eg.)
The problem with the flash and cats, in addition to the red or green eye problem, it that the guard hairs act like prisms and produce a rainbow effect that distorts the true color of cats.
A flash is useful in portrait photography as it eliminates shadows, and can balance the color to make people look better than they really are. Playing with light color is vital in commercial display areas, and responsible for some very bad clothes being sold. If you get the light color wrong on food displays, no one will buy it, especially meat.
What a pretty little girl. She looks like she would be a great cat to tame down for a pet.

I’m fairly certain she already has a human staff, OWL, and jumps out the window on occasion to see what’s going on around the neighborhood. Her reaction to me is much different than a feral. She avoids me but it’s not the flight reflex, she merely stays out of reach.
