CNN reports that a priest believes that Warren Buffett is a Nazi:
“The merger of Gates and Buffett may spell doom for the families of the developing world,” said the Rev. Thomas Euteneuer, a Roman Catholic priest who is president of Human Life International.
Referring to Josef Mengele, the infamous Nazi death camp doctor, Euteneuer said Buffett “will be known as the Dr. Mengele of philanthropy unless he repents.”
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation gives some money to Planned Parenthood, but does not permit its gifts to be used for abortion services. Yes, folks, family planning equates to torture and mass murder. Finding a way to stop malaria means nothing if you hand out condoms.
Let’s be clear on this: these people don’t give a damn what happens to children after they are born.

It probably wasn’t the Gates Foundation gift he was referring to. NPR did a story on the Buffett donation a couple of days back, and they mentioned that another large chunk (and in fact it may have been the bulk of Buffett’s $30 bn donation) was going to the foundation started by his late wife. That foundation has, over the years, very quietly but very explicitly supported abortion rights.
I still don’t agree with the characterization of Buffett as a Nazi, though. And I’m dismayed that a Catholic priest could so publicly forget the Golden Rule. Not to mention that, strictly speaking, he’s violated the commandment against bearing false witness. He should get himself to confession, post-haste.
Michael, he was specifically attacking the Gates Foundation gift. The thrust of the donation to Planned Parenthood by the Gates Foundation is in preventing the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, specifically AIDS.
I could understand an attack on Buffett’s wife’s foundation, but the bulk of the donation will go to the Gates Foundation, $30+ billion in stock, to finance research on diseases.
