Today

Today marks the fifth anniversary of the war we should have won and could have won.

The Taliban are resurgent; the poppy production is huge; and Osama is still at large.

The incompetence shown by the conduct of the war in Afghanistan has emboldened all of those who hate the US.

Poppy? The problem isn’t so much Poppy as Junior. When he ordered troops sent to a country harboring someone who actually did attack the U.S., he didn’t bother to make it possible for them to capture or kill the attacker. Five years later, he still doesn’t seem to care if he does or doesn’t bring Osama to justice. If it’s politically convenient for Bush, he’ll do that, if he can figure out how. Damn the man… Bush, I mean, though surely Osama deserves it as well.

And another really dangerous crazy in North Korea has conducted a test of a nuclear weapon because the Shrubbery refused to talk to him, or guarantee not to attack him.
