United Nations Day

United Nation

Today is the 61st anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.

It would be a good day for someone to explain to the current administration that the purpose of the UN is not to ratify every crazy concept that occurs to the resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

I shall celebrate the fact that the top ten floors are still there, despite Bolton’s efforts.

I would have a hard time sorting out my feelings if the top ten floors collapsed on Bolton.

Just like the Constitution was not written for POTUS to wipe his A** on either! Ya’d think he was born in that proverbial Barn with a Silver Foot in his mouth (to paraphrase the former Tex Gov, Ann Richards). *wink*

Barns in Connecticut are rare and expensive, normally reserved for prized breeding stock, not Shrubbery.

Kevin Kline, the United Nations, and moi. Three good things that happened on this day in history.

Oh, and the Peace of Westphalia. That makes four.

Happy Birthday, Michael!

I hope things calm down a bit for you.

I managed to escape from the office, I managed to get to Minneapolis in one piece, the weather up here is actually pretty nice, and I was able to get a great ticket for tonight’s hockey game (six rows back, just a little to the right of the opponents’ goal). Conference starts tomorrow afternoon, so I have a little down time to catch up on some reading, find my way around the campus, and maybe hook up with a couple of friends up this way. All things considered, I’ve got nothing to bitch about. For now, anyway ;-9
