As I understand it: the President of the United States has sent a letter to the President of Russia that offers not to install the missile defense system [that doesn’t work] in Eastern Europe, if the President of Russian will pressure Iran not to build nuclear weapons [that they stopped working on in 2003].
Sounds fair to me – an equal exchange of paranoid delusions.

Ummmm… riiiight… 😐
I really do not know what to think about that. Of course, Putin (sorry, ummm… Medvedev, ahem) would either think that’s a funny joke, or simply a political ploy by Obama to lull the idiots in the USA. I’d be very interested in Pu… Medvedev’s response. 😉
I seriously hope it’s just a ploy by Obama, and not that he believes either of those things (that the useless MDS actually works, or that Iran can make working nukes).
Maybe Obama should have said that the USA wouldn’t deploy the useless MDS if Russia agrees not to produce their new MIRV ICBM’s, that do work. LOL
I’m not an Obama fan, but he can read with comprehension, so there’s no way he can believe in the MDS or Iran nukes.
I think Vlad will probably tell Dimitri to go along with it and then say that the US backed down.
I’ve since seen other reports claiming it was about the Iranian missile program, but that makes no sense since it’s the Chinese and North Koreans who have been supporting that effort, while Russia is involved in the nuclear program, and would actually like to supply Iran with nuclear fuel.
The level of ignorance about Iran is appalling. It would have been nice if the CIA’s network that watched Iran’s WMD programs hadn’t been compromised by the Hedgemony.
