And The Fun Continues

… at the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

The Daily News reports that Two sheriff’s jobs hinge on interviews:

Chief Deputy Michael Coup and Technology Specialist David Yacks — Teresa Adams’ brother — are both on paid administrative leave.

Jim Murray, who had been with the Sheriff’s Office as a staff attorney since 2001 and began contracting to do its legal work in 2006, was notified March 5 that his services were no longer needed.

It would appear that the interim sheriff is unhappy with many of the things he has found in the department.

I would be interested in knowing if “Technology Specialist” Yacks has any connection to the $500K earmark for “Okaloosa County Law Enforcement Technology” that Congresscritter Jeff Miller stuck in the budget bill that was just passed. It would certainly be embarrassing if they had to return the money, the bulk of Miller’s earmarks, to the Federal government.

Ahhh… well, THAT explains everything! Why didn’t ya say so before? Why would anyone be surprised? *sigh*

We just aren’t used to having so much corruption dumped on our plate all at once. First there was the local rep in the Florida assembly [lower house] who was supposed to be the Speaker, and he had to resign. Now the Sheriff’s Department is in total meltdown. We have always had crooks in office, but they used to be more competent and not get caught.

The real fun is to listening to these people talk about getting others to fill these positions, and then suggesting people who couldn’t withstand the background check to work in a convenience store. There is one guy that a lot people in this area want to run for state-wide office, and I have to hold my breath to keep from spewing coffee through my nose when they bring him up. Actually, he is a pretty nice guy, but he has a very “interesting” family, which is why he got out of politics before anyone made the connection.

He is an intelligent, honest person and every family has a “black sheep”. Unfortunately, in this case – he’s it.

One word: Republican. ‘nuf said. 😉 Only a complete hypocrite or total nutter becomes a Republican. They think that will allow them to justify their antisocial, self-centered and hypocritical religious views in like minded company. I wouldn’t care less, except they are hell bent on imposing their inanity on the sane. I still say, round them all up and send them to Pluto. Problem solved. 🙂 All the Repugs that woke up one morning sane (like John Cole, I like his new tag on his blog: ‘Consistently Wrong Since 2002.’) have already left the ‘Gang of Perverts'(tm).

Anyone who is a Republican should just be arrested and locked up. The chances are they will be guilty of something. Why bother discovering what that is? Save time and money and you probably really don’t want to know what they did (or will do!) 😉

I’m old enough to remember when these people were conservative Democrats, so the Party identification isn’t infallible. These are the people who still want an aristocracy, and forgot why everyone immigrated in the first place.

The sick, greedy bastards always find some political label to pollute, to justify their lack of morals and self-control.

In all fairness, there is more than one kind of republican. There are lots of incarnations of them today. I’m referring to those like the fiscal conservatives that are sticking with their party even though it’s been hijacked by the hypocritical nutters and religious extremists. And that’s a big part of their problem. The party has fractured and has become very regional. I don’t see that changing any time soon. Thank goodness.

And speaking of competent crooks… I remember them. We used to have them here in Chicago. But lately they have become incompetent so we’ve been indicting them.

There is a certain admiration for the skillful thief. I remember a much respected burglar in upstate New York who was noted for his professionalism, and neatness. He never left clues, or a mess. Of course, that meant we knew he did it, but it took real police work to build a case that would stick.

The current crop are smash and grab artist driven by greed with no sense of proportion. They are idiots, and they still get elected by the drone voters of the political parties.

7 Kryten42 { 03.16.09 at 7:33 pm }

That’s all true of course. And I agree that the original Republican party has been hijacked by many self-interest groups and just plain criminals and assorted nutters. Still, I think that anyone who still supports the GOP either agrees with their assorted criminal or insane ideas or is too stupid to know the difference. I maintain that the majority of the sane have already abandoned that shipwreck before it ran aground. 😉

They really only have four choices: 1. They agree and believe in the party agenda (I won’t call them ‘principals’ because they truly have none), 2. Take the party away from the criminals and nutters and reform it (that’ll never happen, since it also seems to be the party of cowards with everything else), 3. Leave in disgust and either try to make the Democrat party work (and at the moment, they are not a lot better than the Republican’s) or 4. start a new party. 🙂 Maybe five… the really smart, sane people have already emigrated. I’ve met several here over the past few years, even Texans that couldn’t stand it any longer, and a couple from Sth Carolina, etc. 😉 The Texan I met who coincidentally had worked with GD and other MIC corp’s, said that he had to leave as his only other option was to kill the fake Texan Bush for giving Texas such a bad name. LOL I met him in a local Starbucks one morning actually. We had a good chat and a laugh. Maybe I helped make his day. 🙂

I have met many Sri Lanken people here who tell a similar joke when someone comments something like: “All the Sri Lanken’s I meet here are so nice, I don’t understand how there is so much trouble in Sri Lanka.” The usual response is something like: “That’s because all the good Sri Lankens have left!” LOL Maybe that will be true of the USA one day also. 😉

Looking at the record of the Hedgemony I am driven to pervert Churchill and say that rarely in the course of human history have so few done so much to so many.

They took a perfectly fine world and sound economy and corrupted it into a major global disaster by inattention, ignorance, and hubris.

Almost every group that the Reagan administration opposed has been elected to power: leftists in South and Central America, Hamas and Hezbollah in the Middle East, a resurgent Russia, etc. I’m waiting for bin Laden to be crowned king of Saudi Arabia. These people were failure on an epic scale.

They fact that they have broken the entire world makes emigration a wasted exercise.

Sadly, all very true. I do sympathize and understand the anger and frustration the many good and decent American’s feel. In a strange way, it’s actually brought the World (well, the saner, more understanding parts of it) closer to their like-minded brethren in the USA. Many people I speak to *out here* in the World say that the understand and sympathize with the decent Americans. SO, as with all tragedies, something good may come out of it. Small comfort that that might be in the short term. And as this is a global disaster, perhaps it will be the spark that ignites a global response and maybe the Wold can work together without it necessitating a World War to do so. 🙂

OT: In other news, we have decided to move to a VPS hosting plan at WestHost for an amazing $10/Mth (on a 12 month plan!) We should be signing up/moving in the next couple days! Check out their Data Center/Operations Center! I drooled… I want one to play with!! LOL Well, I’ll have to settle for a small part of one I guess. 😉 They have a real time chat system for pre-sale questions, and I was so impressed! All my questions were answered within minutes. Anyway, I hope to have the two test sites back online by the weekend. I’ll keep you posted. 🙂

You’ll excuse me if I wish the world were united in something other than our shared misery. I don’t care what Obama is able to accomplish, it will be a long time before the world forgives us for the last 8 years.

OT: I hope the new host lives up to its promise as a good place to be and I should have some time opening up shortly.

11 Kryten42 { 03.17.09 at 10:53 am }

Some of the World already has m8! 😀 Even before Obama…

Apologies Accepted.

This came about in response to Sorry Everybody after the 2004 election. This is now Hello Everybody. 🙂

As I said, not everyone believes all Americans are to blame. And the ones that did, hated Americans before anyway! 😀

OT: My client signed up at WestHost, so I should be able to start transferring and testing. 🙂 They have most of what I need there already, they even supply WordPress. 🙂

12 Bryan { 03.17.09 at 8:00 pm }

Well, we appreciate that some people understand that there is a difference between people and their government.

If they supply WordPress, they probably take care of the upgrades, which is nice.
