The Alabama Primary

I’ve seen a lot of blogivating about the results of the Republican primaries in Mississippi and Alabama, and how having them finish Santorum, Gingrinch, and Rmoney, showed how off the wall the GOP is in both states.

Wrong. If you want to know how insane these people are consider who won the Republican primary for Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court – Roy Moore! He was the outright, over 50% winner of the vote. The guy who was thrown out of that office in 2003 [a unanimous decision by a judicial panel] for refusing to comply with the order of a Federal judge about removing his Ten Commandments monument from the Supreme Court building, a chunk of rock that he personally had put into place without consulting anyone else. He is now the official Republican candidate for the office.

What amazes me is that there are still some people who say they are liberals/progressives and who believe you can reason with Republicans. Republicans inhabit a separate space-time continuum, and they cannot be reached.

All I can do is shake my head in disbelief.

Just imagine having to live amongst these wingnuts down here. I could not believe that the fools in the state would ever vote for ole Roy. Sad part is that he will be elected by the same wingnuts in the general election. It never ceases to amaze me how the people are manipulated by the rethugian media and religious leaders.
Another amazing fact that surfaced in the exit polls was that half of those interviewed think Pres. Obama is a muslin. Talking about DUMB ASS REDNECKS, we got’em!!

They keep doing things like this and wonder why they can’t escape the hole they have dug for themselves.

Moore should have been disbarred for violating a court order, but they just administratively removed him, so he lost a job and nothing else.

The ‘culture of victimhood’ is alive and well in the South. All of Alabama’s problems are someone else’s fault. It will all be solved by holding another prayer service, instead of actually doing anything about their problems.

Muslins are really dangerous… especially if they’ve been made into robes and pointy white hoods…. 🙂

Musselman [archaic] from the trading city of Mosul, Iraq on the Tigris River.

Muslin was created in what is now Bangladesh, the Islamic area of what was Bengal. It was shipped into Europe on Arabic trade routes that included Mosul.

Probable derivation – a contraction of ‘Musselman linen’ …

Or, it could just be a typo 😉

Hey, I didn’t say that the (to borrow a phrase from Badtux) “f**king moron’s” down here knew how to pronounce words correctly or spell. But our great Governor is gonna fix that, he’s now wanting to start Charter Schools so all his cronies can get in on the pie that is public education. Besides, that means all of the select group he represents won’t have to send their kids to the schools with the darkie’s. George Wallace would marvel at their plans to re-segregate the schools.
Redneck dictionary: Muslin = Sand darkie in a bathrobe,
Muslims = a bunch of sand darkies in bathrobes
Geez, do I have to translate all redneck speak for you folks that ain’t from Talabama? LOL

Actually, I’m from Okaloosa County on the Florida Panhandle, but Ellroon is from the West, and doesn’t interact with the locals down here in South Fundistan.

Well, charter schools have been so successful in scamming money from the state treasury in Florida, it is natural that the GOP in Alabama would like to import the scheme.

Isn’t amazing how they refuse to spend money on public schools, but are more than willing to hand it out to people with no experience in the basics of education. To start a charter school in Florida you don’t have to prove you can housebreak a puppy, but you can get thousands from the state to teach children.

It is the core Republican belief that ‘private enterprise’ is ‘more efficient’ than the public sector, despite a total absence of any real proof.

Actually, people think I’m kidding when I say that when Alabama’s two Senators went to Washington, the average IQ in the state jumped up. Most Republicans hates taxes because they can’t understand arithmetic involving fractions. Rather than learning, they would rather yell ‘elitist’.
